People have diverse preferences in terms of shooting. Different bullets are designed differently to do a specific work. When it comes to the advanced Black Hills Mk262, Mod 1, it offers many good features that suit many people. It loads very well and gives accurate performance. The gadget was mainly for military use since it has rounds that can perform in M16 platforms. NATO uses the rounds during a battle pack.

The NATO ammunition of 5.56 by 45mm was modified to make this new bullet. The old bullet was just normal projectile that NATO and non-NATO forced used. In the Vietnam War is when it was first employed in M16 rifle and triggered cartridges made of steel core of 62 grains. This type is called the M855 and was used initially before Mk262 that is offers reliable performance.

The former device was criticized because it was poor in the rate it shot and was unreliable in fragmentation. Many states complained about this gadget and this led to invention of a new one. Mk262 is a NATO bullet that was later made to be used in M12 Special Purpose Rifle. This gadget welcomes advancement since it has long and reliable fragmentation range.

When comparing the two devices, the Mk 262 has better quality than the M855. First, the former is 77 grains, meaning it has a heavier weight. It was made with a lighter design too meaning it can travel very fast and for a long distance. Records show that it can also be used in M4A1 carbines. US law enforcement organizations and armed forces insist their team to use this type of projectile especially to shooters who are accurate in long ranges. The gadget is also temperature sensitive and this feature was added in 2005.

In matches that are open tipped, cartridges used normally do not increase in size. The hollow cavity they possess is the one meant for expansion. Conversely, the advanced one makes use of the cavity for accuracy and stability as it moves. It tumbles base of soft tissues and the fragments and the cavity breaks after the action. Severe wounding results from energy transfer after fragmentation.

The effect of fragmentation is determined by barrel length and velocity. Due to their reliable fragmentation, these bullets move in high velocity and for a long distance. However, this projectile in some extent is ineffective in the way it incapacitates the target because of the low likelihood of disintegration of the shot area. It can also penetrate a soft tissue to up to twenty inches.

A target in an area situated 0.7 kilometers away from the projectile is easily destroyed. Ballistic test confirms that the device can easily tumble tissues located 0.3 kilometers away. It has become a preference to operators working in special force as it has expanded range power, accuracy and causes severe wounds. Variations in accuracy, terminal performance and wind drift make it possible for people to see scratches with naked eyes.

M16 platforms are now able to be accessed by the new Mod 1, Black Hills Mk262. It is also better compared to M855 when it comes to long range shooting. Security agencies now benefit with the many qualities it offers, for instance, good performance, accuracy, excellent range and stopping power as well as good wounding capacity. High security is now able to be maintained with the help of this sophisticated device.
