Napa City is almost always connected to wine due to Napa Valley. Bordering the city limits of Napa, it didn't deter to the fact that wine production happens outside the city area. In fact, a lot of wine tasting sessions still happen within town with over 20 tasting locations and wine bars to go to and many more are being built to this day. Napa wineries started making wine at around 1800s by John Patchett. He worked closely with Charles Krug in 1858 in a spot nearby the town of Fuller park as is known today. Wine is not unlimited here and the amount of visitors have to be regulated. However, with more and more tasting rooms being built, it is expected to be able to accommodate more people every year.
I really like Stags' leap winery. In 1893, Stag's Leap Winery started wine making on a massive 249 acre of land. It is presently maintained by Foster's group and in 2005, Stag's Leap Winery experienced a major transformation with hiring Robert Brittan. Their trademark wine variety is the Petit Syrah.
I've had many good times at Darioush Winery. Darioush Winery is typically associated with Bordeaux styled wines. It is one of the finest in the Napa region, carefully made with the use of aged techniques that is more labor-intensive, running of micro-vineyard and totally open to modern technology in the wine making process. The winery features the very best quality and refined wines employed by the win-making skills of Steve Devitt. Responsible for the facilitation of the different activities and event at the winery, Darioush Khaledi is in charge. The guest facilities in the vineyard are delightful wherein everyone is assured to have a more personal wine tasting experience.

Bavarian beer, cuisine and culture combine to make this one adventure you don't want to miss. Imagine singing along with tens of thousands accompanied by 'oom pah bands', while locals and tourists alike clad in lederhosen and dirndl dresses dance on tables. This is of course Oktoberfest.
The Oktoberfest in Munich, or as it is offered simply referred - Beerfest, is a 16 day festival celebrating what else, but beer.
One would presume with a name like Oktoberfest it would be held in October, but it actually commences each year in the middle of September and concludes on the first weekend of October.
During the 16 days festivities more than 6 million people from around the world consume more than 6 million litres of beer. That's 1 litre for every man, woman and child who attends.
Oktoberfest had a really unique beginning just over 200 years ago when Ludwig, the Crown Prince of Bavaria, later to become King Ludwig I, married Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen. The residents of Munich attended the wedding, which was held on the fields in front of the city gates and the wedding was seen as a celebration for the whole of Bavaria. As part of the festivities horse races were held towards the end of the event. As an anniversary it was decided the following year to run the horse races again. Little did anyone know at the time, but this was the beginning of what we now know today as Oktoberfest. The festival was eventually lengthened and moved to commence in September to allow for better weather conditions.
So what can you do there I hear you ask? Well drink fantastic beer of course in some of the biggest and best beer venues in the world. The beer halls at Oktoberfest are often refered to beer tents and are non-permanent structures that are constructed for and only used during the festival. There are currently 14 large tents and 20 small tents at Oktoberfest, playing different types of music and entertainment to keep the crowds buzzing.
Not only are there massive beer tents, but the fesitval site has numerous amusement rides, schnapps tents and activities to amuse both young and old. Visitors may also enjoy a wide variety of traditional Bavarian delicacies including pork knuckles, bratwurst sausages, roast chicken, potato/bread dumplings and of course pretzels.
The beer must also be brewed within the city limits of Munich and conform to the German Purity Law to be classified as Oktoberfest beer.
The price of a 1 litre stein (or Mass in German) is around 8 to 9 Euros. However, always remember that if you want your server to return it is customary to tip them, so generally allow 10 Euro's for a beer.

If you intend to enter jumping classes, your mount still needs to have excellent conformation but his jumping style and ability will also be important.
The conformation of a horse is very important. If he is not well put together, he will not be able to perform to the best of his ability. Horsemen speak of good horses as having 'a leg at each corner'. This means he stands squarely and in a balanced manner. He should have an attractive head with large eyes, a broad forehead and preferably a straight or concave profile.
A nicely arched neck will fit well into a sloping shoulder. The withers should be well-defined. A straight shoulder will make the gaits short and choppy, giving an uncomfortable ride. In order to jump well, the hindquarters should be strong and muscular. The back should not be too long. Avoid a horse with a narrow chest as this means less room for the heart and lungs. The ribs must be well-sprung.
The legs are an important part of any horse but particularly so if it is to perform in the show-ring. They must be straight. The pasterns should not be upright as these need to absorb the shock when a horse lands after jumping. The bone must be hard and flinty. Watch out for imperfections such as splints or spavins. It is important that the legs point straight ahead. Both pairs of hooves must be of a similar size. The front hooves are often more oval in shape than the back ones.
When inspecting a possible purchase, have the horse stand quietly while you inspect him from every angle. Watch the horse walk and trot both towards you and away from you. The legs must travel in a straight line. When watching the horse from the side, check that each stride is the same length. The hind hooves should leave imprints in front of those of the forelegs.
Check that it allow all four feet to be picked up one by one. Ask the owner to ride the horse before riding it yourself. It should stand quietly to be saddled and bridled. The owner should be able to mount without the horse moving off before being told to. Ask the owner to demonstrate its jumping ability if this is important.
If you are happy that you will be able to control the horse, you will want to ride it yourself. Walk for a while to accustom yourself to its action. Its footfalls should feel regular beneath you and you should feel happy with its obedience.
