Adventure travel is a growing trend among travelers and vacationers and anybody who likes more activity on their trips. You should really consider starting with a half day trip if you are new to this sport or if you are bringing all of your family with you. Outings that are Class I or Class II aren't too hard, although Class III and higher are pretty tough. If you're not accustomed to high altitudes, there's a very good chance you'll have to contend with altitude sickness at some point. There are, however, many reasons to consider a Himalayan trek, as it can certainly be a life experience you'll never forget.

You may enjoy a trip to Africa on a safari if you like the animal kingdom. This is the real deal where you find animals in the flesh, when you have probably only seen them on the television or at your local zoo prior to the occasion. You will be able to see various members of the cat family along with some of the larger animals like elephants in their own environment. South Africa, Kenya and Zimbabwe are just a couple of the African countries that offer safaris. If you're a photographer, or even if you just want to enjoy the scenery, this can be the experience of a lifetime. When figuring on whether or not you can afford an African safari; you need to assess things like time you intend on spending at that location and other details.

This is still a fairly low key type of adventure travel, but it's being offered in more and more places today.
