Whistler needs no introduction as one of North America's most popular ski resorts. This charming ski village has so much to offer both on and off the ski hills. The beginner and the expert have a lot of options available to them, as the mountains are filled with really incredible runs. Situated in the Coast Mountains between two lakes, Whistler is a top destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts, particularly skiers and snowboarders.

Cruising from top to bottom on either mountain takes time, as a total of 8,171 skiable acres demands. It is a really incredible and vast ski playground. But don't worry, the ski area is nicely groomed and the lifts are first class. There are plentiful cross-country routes and lots of walking trails too for those who prefer a more leisurely day on the mountain. Two hundred shops fill the Village of Whistler. Fortunately, the shopping is excellent. The quality is extremely high and the variety will likely surprise you.

It takes less than two hours in the winter to get from Vancouver airport to Whistler. This makes this resort a great choice for skiers considering a long weekend away. There are a number of charter companies that offer excellent transfer services on a private basis directly from Vancouver airport to Whistler. As soon as you arrive at the airport, you will picked up and taken to your hotel. Most of the transportation companies use vehicles that have room to safely store sports equipment and the drivers are experienced in handling and packing equipment where necessary.

A Beautiful and Charming Village

Skiing is what people come here for in the winter, but there is much more to offer in this picturesque little village. The wide variety of cuisine available in the village could tempt you to stay off the mountain. It is definitely a great way to break up your day. The type of food ranges from casual to asian fusion, to contemporary. There is even first class pub food throughout the village.

It is easy to be swept away in the atmosphere of the village when you are walking through the snow covered streets and looking into the glistening shop windows. The really great thing is that although the village is relatively small, it has an active nightlife.

The vicinity of the airport in Vancouver to Whistler, and the variety of skiing options, make it a wonderful choice for a winter holiday. And the fact that a wide variety of accommodations abound for every budget makes this all the more attractive.

Prices are competitive and the door-to-door service that really eliminates any of the traditional hassles of a car rental or even a bus shuttle service.
