The Romantic Road, which will take you from Bavaria to the foot hills of the German Alps, is positively the perfect dive for any tourist looking to see the country at its best. Actually, this 261 mile long road is possible to drive in a day, but that would certainly go against the whole point of taking it in the first place. After all, it is not called the Romantic Road for nothing. So take is slow and enjoy the beautiful ride.

So, just to make sure that you only get the best out of your drive, here are the spots that you should really definitely pull over for and take the time to look around.

Wrzburg

If you want to get some fine wine, and some fine dining, Wrzburg is positively the spot to stop over and relax. What else would you expect since it is located right in the Franken region which is famous for their wine. Of course, along with the wine, there are numerous vineyards too, and, if you are fortunate, maybe even a wine fest. But certainly one of the top attractions of this area would must be the Residence Palace- a true sight to see.

Rothenburg ob der Tauber

If you want to see what Germany was like way back in the Medieval age, then you really should positively walk down the streets of this spot. In all of Germany, this town is positively the best preserved medieval town of its kind. Translated in English as "Red fortress above the Tauber", it is the perfect way to have a glimpse into their rich past.

Castle Hotel Colmberg

The Castle Hotel Colmberg is the perfect area to get some shut eye. Just imagine, you will in fact get a chance to stay in a real castle that is about 1000 years old. Now, wouldn't that just complete your whole trip ? This is one fine-looking area that you will definitely remember for a lifetime. Just be ready to walk up some stairs, as, staying true to its roots, it is the only option you have- no elevators here.

Neuschwanstein

Nearing the Bavarian Alps you will actually find one of the top ten tourist attractions in all of Germany- Neuschwanstein. However, you can not check in to this castle. You will, however, could take the guided tour through the area which takes about 30 minutes.
