Thailand is one of the most popular countries in Asia for tourism, and often the first country visited for travelers in the Southeast Asian countries. The James Bond island is here, were the Man with the Golden Gun was filmed. Krabi is also a top destination for climbers. Pataya and Hua Hin are not far from the city of Bangkok for those who have less time.

It is situated in the North of Thailand and is a beautiful city with many historical attractions for visitors including Lanna era temples. Not too far out of the city, on top of a hill is Wat Doi Suthep, which is a beautiful Buddhist temple complex with stunning views over Chiang Mai. The north region has many trekking opportunities too.

Chiang Mai is consider to be the perfect place in which to learn about Thai Buddhism and cooking Thai food. You can also learn to speak Thai and enjoy a Buddhist retreat at Wat Doi Suthep.
