The Salt River is a stream that is located in the American state of Arizona. It is considered the largest branch of the Gila River and extends approximately 200 miles in length. Boating, fishing and Salt River rafting AZ are popular activities.

People are allowed to load their tubes with essentials and board the bus where they are transported to stop one, to take the full trip down.

Areas have been set up to allow people to use the bathroom, picnic or rest. These are near the bridge at sop two. Restrooms are also located at stop four. There are different parking lots available. Visitors can park at the lot located where they want to start, but it is recommended that they park at the place where their journey is expected to end. The recreation facility offers free parking, but there is a fee to ride the available buses. Fees at other lots are set and issued by the state.

This river does not close. Still, there are many nearby roads that authorities may choose to close. On busy days, including Memorial Day and the Fourth of July, roads can become clogged and authorities will close them. To avoid getting stuck in traffic or dealing with detours from road closures, be sure to go early.

Families should go rafting on Monday through Thursday, when the crowds are not present. Many times people gather in groups to party here, which may involve profanity, rowdiness, and intoxicated people. This is not necessarily a family friendly environment on weekends or holidays.

It is not common for people floating to get lost because the stream leads to the same area. People who find themselves off track or decide to wander are more likely to become lost. It is essential that visitors understand that people are capable of being hurt or killed while rafting. Drownings are known to happen. However, the most injuries involve people who have had too much alcohol to drink or are overexposed to the sun and heat. The summer temperatures can be unbearable. People must use sun protection and consume plenty of water.
