There Are Some Wonderful Argentina Patagonia Adventure Travel Options

Patagonia is found at the southern end of South America, bordering Chile and Argentina. The region boasts possibly the most amazing landscape on the globe and is home to the southern part of the Andes Mountains which leads out towards the Pacific Ocean. To the east of the mountain range down to the valleys, the region hosts the Colorado River. Such settings make Argentina Patagonia adventure travel ideal for anyone that wishes to experience true amazement.

The Argentinian part of the region includes the stunning provinces of Chubut, Rio Negro and Santa Cruz, amongst others. Tourism grew to be a vital part of the economy only in the second half of the twentieth century. The area was originally a secluded backpacking destination but these days it attracts some upmarket tourists, adventure and activity holiday goers and also cruise passengers who are visiting Antarctica or rounding Cape Horn.

Tourist temptations in the picturesque area include the Valdes Peninsula, the Argentine Lake District, Torres Del Paine national park and Perito Moreno glacier. The arrival of tourism has industrialized new local fairs for traditional crafts like handicrafts, preserves, textiles and confectionery. The products are being exported now.

Thanks to the increase in visitors, foreigners are buying up huge areas of land to develop prestigious properties on. The area's largest land owner, a local, has developed new methods for the sheep rearing industry and has also plowed money into the economy by sponsoring museums and community amenities. This is a somewhat controversial issue though owing to their treatment of the local community.

Argentine cuisine consists of mouth-watering pastas and grilled meats with emphasis placed on the use of local ingredients. Lamb is the traditional meat. It is typically grilled for a number of hours over an open fire. Popular at restaurants are game meats like boar and deer.

In certain areas an Alpine tradition reins which includes tea rooms, chocolate bars and fondue restaurants. A popular caramel kind of sauce which is used on lots of desserts is known as Dulce de leche. Mate is a bitter tea that is often consumed. Variable components can be added to a tea like cinnamon, lemon and sugar.

There are lots of things to do in this region. It proffers incredible whale-watching events in Puerto Madryn. The best time to catch a look is from June to December. The Alps are undoubtedly major hiking, horseback riding and climbing locations. The dinosaur track in the northwest delivers scenic walks. Specific people assert that it is here where skeletons belonging to some of the largest dinosaurs may be seen.

The Cave of the Hands dates back to 7370 BC and is a World Heritage Site. There are free guided walks hourly. The breathtaking glaciers found in the southern sector are thrilling to gaze at. They are 60km high, 30km long and 5km wide. The nation is said to be a diving hub with captivating shipwrecks and marine life to be enjoyed. Kayaking and windsurfing is popular too and many places offer instructions during peak season. Argentina Patagonia adventure travel truly does have a bit of everything for everybody.
