The Ideal Place to Go Birding in Yucatan

Tourist will love Mexico because of the many things and places that they could do and visit. There are many things and activities that you can do while you are in the place and that you will be amazed and would make the trip worthwhile. There are a lot of beautiful things Yucatan Peninsula has to offer. Among these are the birding sites where you could bring your family and friends. Other places to visit are the beaches, restaurants, and you can do diving with the whale sharks.

Yucatan Peninsula is the home of almost half of the bird population in Mexico. It is definitely the best place to experience birding. This became one of the favorite activities of the tourists and you will certainly agree with them.

Eye catching parks and reserves are indeed one of the tourists most wanted activity when visiting Yucatan. It has rich natural treasures that you cannot afford to miss. Some of the parks you can visit are Isla Contoy, Sian Ka'an, Rio Celestun Park, Isla Contoy, and Celsetun.

Isla Contoy

The allowed visitors to visit the area are only limited. You will reach the place by riding a boat between 1 to 2 hours. This island is recognized as the oldest reserve in Quintana Roo. It is as well considered as one of the ideal places to witness birding in Yucatan. Brown pelicans and double crested cormorant are among the birds that you will see.

Celestun

This place is located 100 meters west of the capital city of Merida. You will see a lot of pink flamingos here. The blaze of pink will definitely make your jaws drop as it is very beautiful. You will be able to see them flying in V shaped formation. Other birds that you can see in the place are heron, white ibis, kingfisher, frigate bird and cormorant.

Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve

You will be able to find more than 360 of bird species in this place. Some of the birds you will see are belted kingfisher, frigate birds, egrets, roseate spoonbills, blue and boat-billed herons and jabirus stork. You must be aware that this place occupies almost one-third of Mexico's Caribbean coast so you need to spend your time here a little longer.

It is very overwhelming to see the breathtaking scenario of birding in Mexico so do not delay your chance to visit and explore Mexico. To maximize your time and fun, you need to plan your itinerary ahead of time. Make your Mexico travel a more memorable one by being one with the nature.
