Washington Square Park, New York, is found in Manhattan's Greenwich Village and is a favorite local park for residents and travelers, too. Events in Washington Square Park are numerous and some of the most well liked include concerts, outside theatre, art and assorted workshops.



<strong>Free Summer Concerts</strong>

The Washington Square Music Festival 2011 starts in July and will have concerts each Tuesday evening at 8:00 pm. The concerts will run from July through August. Come join us for an evening of beautiful classical and jazz music with musical director Lutz Rath. This year, the Washington Square Musical Festival will celebrate 53 years of free concerts and is the second oldest free classical music series in NYC. The concerts are located in front of the Holley Statue in the middle of Washington Square. In the unfortunate event of rain, concerts are relocated to St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Churchin Greeewich Village

<strong>NYLaughs ' Laughter in the Park 2011</strong>

NyLaughs ' Laughter in the Park is a free comedy series that runs for eleven weeks, beginning August 14, 2011, from 2:00-4:00 pm. Location is at Holley Plaza. Patrons should enter through Washington Square west and walk east.

<strong>Mommy/Daddy and Me Photography Workshop</strong>

The New York Photo Safari (newyorkcityphotosafari.com) will be putting together a fun filled photo workshop for Dads, Moms and kids. This workshop will happen October 2, 2011 from 9:00-11:00 am. Learn the way to enhance your photography abilities by snapping the surrounding environment and taking family photographs. You&#39;re going to enjoy this special afternoon with your child or children. Classes are $150. (for one parent and one child) and this price incorporates a professional quality 8X10 of your best photograph. You have to bring your own digital camera and, if feasible, it is advisable to bring two cameras - one for you and one for your child. The Location is at 5th Avenue and Washington Square North, Manhattan.
