The major motorway taking you up the coastline is called the N2 and you will come across some charming towns such as Mossel Bay, Knysna, Oudtshoorn and Plettenberg Bay.

The Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma Mountains are rich in Cape Fynbos and native woodlands. They house some 300 species of birds and comprise a variety of environments, including wetlands.
