Basic Information On Black Bear Hunting

Basic Information On Black Bear Hunting

by Linda Ruiz

In his most basic form, man is a natural hunter. He has been chasing after food for years, even in his early days. Even before man has had better weapons, he has been using whatever he can find around the environment to snare and trap food. Even before the advent of different cuisine, man is already used to eating raw food, from the meat of the animal he has just successfully hunted.

Hunting is done primarily for survival. It is the law of nature, that one has to eat and feed upon others, or allow themselves to be eaten and preyed upon by much larger species. Today, it is also done to keep the balance among the natural order of things. Black Bear hunting Canada is now done to maintain the equilibrium.

There are many types of bears in the world, found in separate distinct locations. The brown one, for starters, is a very large specie distributed all throughout the Northern hemisphere. Its tracks actually dig deeper than that of the black one. It has very many regional variations, such as the grizzly, the Eurasian, Amur, and so many others.

Another type of bear has a coat that is as dark as the night. This is more common than its brown brother, found all over the country and neighboring nations. They live deep in the forests, and are partial to crops, especially oats. They are most often hunted during springtime.

The black bear is usually hunted during spring, as it is the time when they sport their best coats. The superior fur is often a staple in couture fashion, modeled by long legged ladies all over the runway. They are often transformed into winter apparel, as bearskin has wonderful insulating capabilities.

Bear meat is also gathered for culinary purposes. The best hunters back then had more than enough meat to eat. They usually baked it or have it boiled in a delicious soup or stew, but they never eat it raw. Trichinella infection in the body of such animal calls for it to be cooked thoroughly as it is considered potentially lethal for humans.

The fat from this particular animal is used as cooking oil. The natives back then used it to fry the meat from the catch of the day. It is even used to light homes in the form of fuel for their lamps. Even a small amount of the said stuff can last up to long hours. It is also used by Native American tribes as medicine.

Apart from the fat, the gall bladder of bears is also used for healing reasons. Traditional Chinese medicine is never without a supply of bear bile in their apothecaries. Bile can be used fresh, or dried up in crystallized form. It is believed to be a very effective way to cure illnesses such as eye problems, rheumatism, and even for gall stones.

Hunting has its positive effects, even if more people are standing up against it. It is actually good for the planet, as it restores the prey population by curbing the number of predators. It is also used in mercy killing, to stop starvation and disease that may set out to kill off more numbers.
