6 Unmissable Attractions To See With BVI Yacht Charters

Some of the most sublime boating locations in the Caribbean are to be found in the British Virgin Islands. With an abundance of white sandy beaches, stunning diving spots and fabulous dining opportunities, discerning visitors are never at a loss for something to see or do. Any reputable company offering BVI yacht charters will be happy to advise on the best attractions. With that said, here are six attractions that are absolute must-sees.

The baths of Virgin Gorda are a collection of huge boulders sitting along the beach at the southern end of the third-largest of the islands. They make up an enchanting collection of caves that are perfect for exploring with a snorkel and flippers. One word of warning: they are a major draw for tourists and can get busy. It's best to get there early (before 10.00) and see as much as possible while things are relatively quiet.

RMS Rhone was a postal ship that sank near Salt Island in 1867. Its wreck is now a major attraction for diving enthusiasts visiting the Caribbean. In addition to the remains of the ship that are still intact, one can see a variety of marine life that has settled in and around the old wreck.

Sandy Spit island close to Jost Van Dyke is the epitome of the desert island idyll. Its pristine white beaches are simply breathtaking and perfect for a lazy day of sun worship. More active visitors can don their snorkel and flippers and explore the beautiful coral that surrounds the island.

On Jost Van Dyke itself are its famous bubbly pools. This natural jacuzzi provides visitors with an exhilarating way to experience the force of the waves that crash in from the Caribbean sea. Somewhat off the beaten track, a short hike is required to get to it, but the experience is more than worth the effort.

Another unmissable spot for divers is The Indians, a jagged rock formation (somewhat resembling an Indian head dress, hence the name) near Norman Island. Taking in the huge array of marine wildlife makes this a superb morning stop point. One sight in particular to look out for is when the sun's rays strike the reef, throwing its stunning colors into view. This spectacle alone makes the Indians one of the best diving locations in the region.

Anegada should be on the itinerary of every foodie, and in particular, anyone who loves lobster. The best lobster restaurants in the region are to be found on this group of islands. The Lobster Trap is one of the best known restaurants on the islands, with their barbecued lobster being a speciality. A variety of other sea food delicacies are also served in a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere.

Of course, there is plenty of other sea food to enjoy, and this being the Caribbean, there are also gallons of rum on offer. BVI yacht charters offer an unrivalled way to see these fantastic islands. The freedom and luxury provided by a yacht is the perfect platform for savouring the delights of this Caribbean paradise.
