The Best Machu Picchu Galapagos Packages

The popularity of South America has rocketed in recent years. After decades of political problems the region has become settled and has seen a massive increase in visitor numbers. It is a unique place full of mystery, incredible wildlife and unchanged cultures. As a result finding Machu Picchu Galapagos packages is easier than ever.

There is now a great deal of choice for anyone who wants to visit these major tourist attractions. Infrastructure in both Peru and Ecuador caters for all budgets from basic right up to five star luxury. There are international hotel chains, first class trains and quality airlines providing internal flights.

Hotels in both countries range from the basic to complete luxury. There are the usual international brands and also lots of unique boutique options. It is possible to stay in old haciendas, colonial properties and even Inka sites. For those who like to pamper themselves there are also some beautiful spa resorts.

Sailing around the Galapagos is a truly memorable experience and so it is worth taking the time to consider the various options. Most trips last seven or eight days and visit a range of different types of island. Some are older than others and so have different animals and plants.

Most islands are small and so it is best to visit in small groups. This means you should consider the size of the boat you will sail in. The smaller boats are more expensive but offer a better experience. They all have excellent crews and qualified wildlife guides who really make the trip special. There are also plenty of opportunities for snorkeling to see the wonderful array of marine life.

Peru is a country with almost unparalleled diversity. It has the driest deserts, deepest canyons and most biodiverse jungle. It also has the ruins and relics of a great number of ancient civilizations, it would keep Indiana Jones occupied for years. Along the coast are lots of unexplored archaeological sites and the hills are littered with lost cities and Inka ruins. The Nazca lines, Chan Chan and Sipan are all increasingly popular.

To get to Machu Picchu visitors must first travel to Cusco. This is an experience in itself as the city is a wonderful and often incongruous mixture of ancient indigenous culture and modernity. From Cusco it is a short journey through the Sacred valley, lined with snow capped peaks, to reach the Inka ruins. Most people do this by train but it is also possible to hike there following the Inka trail.

Finding a great package which includes the Galapagos and Machu Picchu is easy. Many tour operators offer set itineraries and bespoke trips to cater to all tastes and budgets. Getting to South America is simple and affordable from both the United States and Europe. Checking the weather conditions in both locations is a good idea as the mountain regions have their own weather patterns and rainy season takes place from October to March.
