Top Things To Do In Paris

Top Things To Do In Paris

by Adrian Fletcher

No doubt about it, the no. 1 thing to do in the most romantic spot on earth is to fall in love. Unfortunately if sparks don't fly or if you are backpacking with someone who is just a friend or relative, then here are the very top things to do and spots to go to that if you won't find the love of your life here, you will, at the very least, fall in love with the city.

The Eiffel Tower

The very symbol of this breathtaking city would positively have to be the Eiffel Tower. No one, completely no one, in their right mind would overlook the Eiffel Tower on a vacation to Paris. Make your way to the very top and make the most of your get-away instead of just looking at it from afar. You take the stairs, the stairs will probably take your breath. Think about out, every year over 6 million individuals come to see it, so why should you be left out.

Notre Dame Cathedral

The Notre Dame Cathedral is a spectacular sight, regardless of your religion, if you even have one. With its French Gothic type of architecture, ravel at the intricate carvings, the flying buttresses, and the ornate gargoyles guarding the roof up high. Be sure to take a walk all around it from the outside, look around the inside, and make your way up the 387 steps to the very top of the towers where you could actually take a close look at those famous gargoyles, not to mention the panoramic view of the city.

The Louvre

You also may not miss the Louvre and its pyramid. Just about anyone will positively be amazed. This is the biggest museum in the entire world as it is home to a couple of the most distinguished works of art such as the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo. The Louvre holds over 35,000 pieces, so an entire day, heck even an entire week, will not be long enough for you to see them all. Unless you plan on spending a huge percent of your trip wandering the halls of this museum, you might as well opt for the highlight tour and check out the key pieces instead.

Double Decker Bus Tour

Another course of action to get the most out of the city in the shortest amount of time is to take a double decker bus tour. To really be able to go to the sights, the L'Open Tour is by far the best since it has no roof on top. Just be certain to check the weather conditions for any signs of rain. You could take either the one or the two day passes that are being supplied. With these passes, you will be taken on four different routes leading to 50 of the best spots in Paris. You will also get some headphones so that you could hear all of the facts and trivia about the destinations you visit. You even have the choice of 8 different languages- English, of course, French, German, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, and Italian.
