Finding The Right Catamaran Charter

Finding The Right Catamaran Charter

by Lisa Davis

When you planned the vacation tour to those islands at the Caribbean, you and your friends used a yacht as a means for travel. All of you enjoyed the marine vessel that took you sailing and island hopping. The company which you rented the yacht also has a vessel known as BVI Catamaran charter.

The British Virgin Islands, or Natures Little Secret as the locals calls it, is composed of both large and small islands. Its main islands, Anegada, Jost Van Dyke, Tortola, and Virgin Gorda, are among the most popular island destinations by tourists. There are travel guides that are available at online travel sites like Online Cruising Guides which can readily be downloaded. These will serve as your basis on where to go and what to do in each isle you are visiting.

Of course, travelling is not complete without having a means for transport. The company has yachts offered known as bareboat Catamaran fleets. The word was adapted from the Tamil word that equates to logs tied together.

The hulls are of the same size and are parallel with one another at the sides of the sailing boat. They are connected together by the boat deck. In larger vessels, the rooms are located on top and at the side hulls. Some vessels have trampolines which faces the hulls forward.

Your vessel may be small, medium, or large, depending upon the size of your group. The vessel can accommodate a minimum of two to a maximum of fourteen people. Small ones have lengths of up to 39 feet. Medium, on the other hand, spans between 40 feet to 44 feet. Large sailing boats span for more than 45 feet.

Naturally, amenities and facilities have to be present for a boat to be habitable. If your group does not exceed ten people, then you can choose a small Cat. Rooms available are four double cabins with two comfort rooms. Unfortunately, there is no air conditioning available for most of them. The rare few only have shore side air conditioning.

For the medium Cat, it houses a maximum of twelve people. It has a generator powered air conditioning unlike small Cats. It has four double cabins with one bunk cabin as well. It also has four comfort rooms available in each corner.

Meanwhile, a large Cat can hold for up to fourteen people. This also has an air conditioning which is powered by the installed generator. Sleeping rooms available are two bunk cabins plus four double cabins. There are fix to six comfort rooms widely spread in the sail boat.

Those three sizes have bonus features in its inclusions. It may either be an additional installation in the boat or given by the company. Small Cat has a GPS, autopilot, chart plotter with cellphone, VHF, chart and cruising guide, snorkeling gear, and safety gear. Medium Cat has a bonus of fusion DVD sound system, underwater lights, cockpit fridge, ice maker, and saloon TV. Lastly, large Cat has water maker, transom gas barbeque, GPS with autopilot and wind instrument, and settee on fore deck.
