Learning To Pet A Tiger

People consider the tiger to be a big cat, this is literary the case because they share the same family with the house cat. On the other end, some even harbor the thought of taming the wild cat since they consider the normal house cat to be a pretty little creature; they also expect <A href="http://dadecityswildthings.com">pet a tiger</A> and have it behave in the same manner.

The tiger, a rare carnivore by nature is considered a very intelligent animal and is more intelligent than the normal house cat and dog by a big margin. This intelligence when tapped and put under training mostly in captivity can be trained to behave like a dog and any regular cat. In other words, they can be trained to fetch sticks like dogs and poop in hiding like cats thus the owner has a combination of a huge dog and cat in this pet.

The tiger by nature is a very territorial animal, this is just an instinct it gains from birth and enhances it as time goes by. If they are brought up and trained to act like a dog they usually are known to be very good guard animals whereby they guard their territory with such vigor that no human can match up to its strength and only a fellow tiger can be competitive enough.

Even in captivity tigers do not to lose their killer instincts, this instinct they use for their upkeep despite the situation in captivity. They are known to practice and sharpen their skills with anything they can lay their paws on. Some cases have been recorded whereby they pounce on their owners just as a way of practice.

Tigers are naturally solitary animals, and even in the wild they live alone until it reaches the time to mate at around this time the females and male tigers meet up and at other instances of meeting the meet up usually results into fierce battles. In captivity the tigers have been recorded to kill even fellow smaller animals that at times they were brought up with and even played with when they were cubs.

At whatever age they may be, be it a cub to an alpha male, their maintenance is costly, it is expensive because the cat does not eat regular cat food neither does it thrive on little meat, so the pet owner must be able to maintain a constant healthy diet for the tiger to be in optimum shape and sound health.

Tigers are known to only trust one or two people in their life time and in case the persons are not available they cannot trust anyone else. In instances where the trusted person had to leave or died, they are reported to have starved to death as they ignored the food brought by other non trusted persons.

By nature tigers are huge, stealth and ruthless and in case it is realized back into the wild without training on how to hunt the tigers are known to start hunting humans since we form an easy target to them which is a surviving factors that the animal kingdom are known to adopt for the survival of their species.
