The age of 40 to 60 years for ladies is likely to result in a crisis of a kind. This is what experts have refereed to as <A href="http://www.isoldeulrich.com">female midlife crisis</A>. The experience lasts between three and ten years depending on how well a person handles her situation.
Signs of aging send most women into panic mode. It dawns on them that they are getting old. These years are also characterized by emotional and physical changes that are not easy to conceal. Wrinkles also appear as a sign of irreversible aging. Women are worried about stability in relationships, at work and about their health.
There is no uniform trigger or response for all women. Some will experience predicaments because they have a job, while others will worry for not having a career. Children are a source of concern for women at this age. They are worried that they are growing too fast or they are not there. A parent who is alive plays a crucial role up to adulthood. His or her death leaves a gap that will never be filled. A women is left with no place to call home or to take her children during holidays and family gatherings. This is disorienting. Attention shifts to her to provide a home as her parents did. It becomes a huge task.
Midlife is characterized by moodiness and strange-eventful occurrences. The woman gets stressed easily and begins to search for lost dreams. She goes back to teenage engagements like clubbing, drinking, dancing or hanging out with old friends. Other behaviors that would be considered as returning include singing and engaging in sports.
Midlife comes with a lot of remorse because she feels that she has not accomplished much in life. Life seems to be on a drastic decline yet a lot remains unaccomplished. This feeling is dangerous and responsible for some youth related tendencies like clubbing and hanging out with friends.
Many women feel intimidated and humiliated by their colleagues or friends who are more successful. This causes them to avoid public appearances. They begin to reminiscent chances and opportunities that would have made them more successful. This is likely to bring depression.
Some of the behaviors to watch-out for include alcohol abuse. This is an escape route as a woman tries to forget or enjoy what she thinks is youthfulness. She may result to acquisition of jewelry, tattoos, clothing and gadgets that are unusual, extravagant and which do not make sense.
Midlife crisis is likely to come with depression if allowed to persist for a long time. The feeling of dissatisfaction with personal image and accomplishment is dangerous. Some have engaged in relationships with younger men to compensate where fathers or husbands are absent. They encourage their children to excel in academic or expression disciplines like sports, art and music. The time taken depends on how well it is handled.
