Why Boca Raton Florida Is A Safe City

Why Boca Raton Florida Is A Safe City

by Jozy Mozen

If you are looking for a safe city to live in, Boca Raton Florida is a viable option to consider. They have a system of citizen protection plans that are designed to deliver aid and assistance to those in need as well as deter any person intent on committing a crime from doing so. Both the police and fire departments partner with citizens and businesses to ensure the highest level of security for all citizens in the city.

Both state and national crime rates are higher than you will find here. The violent crimes have been almost non-existent for over five years. Other aspects of these yearly reports will show a very low level of incidence when compared to other cities. Much of this success is attributed to the programs operated by police that involve community participation.

The extensive training given to the officers is a large contributing factor for the level of success enjoyed by the police department. Continued education is also a major part of their job description and helps keep them abreast of new techniques and equipment that is available to assist them. These two things combined with community response to specific programs provide very good results.

The police are involved on many levels with the community. They sponsor the Explorers who are teens who work with them on a civic level, the Volunteer program and the Viper Program. Most of these organizations are geared to teaching people to be aware of whom and what is around them at all times.

The Volunteer Forces are trained in various duties that help support the police in their jobs and the Viper program combines all of the technology and skills available with Community, other police agencies, local businesses and education to enhance the success of the mission. They have installed cameras on streets to help survey and identify trouble if it erupts.

The fire department also has community outreach programs to educate citizens about the hazards of careless fire practices. They visit schools, social groups and neighborhood meetings to educate people about smoke alarms in every bedroom and carbon monoxide alarms near heaters and stoves. They also conduct safety inspections at business locations and apartment complexes to insure public safety. They are also responsible for hazardous materials response and EMT services.

This city also has a state of the art EMS program. Each of the eight stations has a vehicle designed to be first responder in a medical emergency. The two man teams that attend incidents are trained as paramedics and their equipment includes the finest lifesaving and monitoring devices available. The fire department also has seven vehicles that are equipped to transport victims if necessary.

There are over four hundred police and fire personnel in this city whose job it is to maintain the safety of the citizens. They are highly trained and skilled in doing their jobs and through public cooperation the city has become a very safe home for the people they serve. The EMS teams as well as the VIPER teams work closely with groups and individuals to ensure the city stays safe for all.
