South Africa is a huge country! The United Kingdom might fit into it just over 5 times, so bear this in mind when preparing your holidays in SA. This short article will help you get "a feel" for the numerous locations and decide which ones you would like to see most.

Unless you have at least three weeks holiday, it is not advisable to try and "see everything", because chances are you will spend most of your holiday driving. Rather pick a place and completely enjoy it. More than likely you will return to South Africa anyhow!

Cape Town is probably your best option if you would like a bit of it all. Cape Town provides elegant California style beaches with promenades and sea-front cafe's however also completely rugged and natural beaches within half an hour's drive from the city. Your elegant beaches are in the areas called Sea-Point, Bantry Bay and Camps Bay and your natural beaches are out of town, going to Cape Point or the East Coastline. If you are heading towards Cape Point, you can stop in at Long Beach, which is truly magnificent, and if you are moving towards the East Coast, you can go to Betty's Bay, a natural reserve.

Cape Town also offers calm rolling hillsides and wine estates, outstanding night life, bustling markets and nature reserves. If you can only select one location to go in SA and would like to get a general feel of the country, Cape Town is your best option. There are some private game reserves which will also enable you to have a real African Safari with just a couple of hours, drive from Cape Town.

If you Google search <a href="http://www.capetours.co.uk">"Holiday South Africa"</a> it will immediately give you information on the Kruger National Park. This would be your best option if you are looking for a top African Safari Experience. Not many locations can truly compare with the Kruger National Park for its choice of lodges and for the size of the reserve itself. Here luxury takes on an entirely brand-new meaning as you find how harmoniously designer furnishings can be combined with the Savannah. Often earthy colors and fluffy pillows are made use of to decorate a plush king sized bed ... inside a camping tent on stilts! Other times the Savannah can be all around you as you drink champagne inside an outdoors exclusive Jacuzzi. Whatever your option, you can generally not go wrong in the Kruger National Park if you are wanting to experience luxury and wildlife.

You will certainly love the East Coastline as it has a warm sea and plenty of nature reserves along the way if you prefer a beach and countryside vacation rather. You can choose an Ocean Safari, shark diving, abseiling, canoeing, kloofing and horse-riding, among others. The East Coast is referred to as "The Garden Route" and has a variety of very attractive beachfront towns. Near Wilderness it is also rich in rivers and lagoons. The Garden Route sometimes runs parallel to "The Wine Route" and you can drive along it if you like sampling exceptional wines and lunching in exclusive vineyards.

You may find yourself very drawn to the West Coastline if you like South Africa but are likewise captivated by the dry beauty of Namibia. The sea is chillier here so you might prefer booking a hotel with a pool. The further North you go, the more dry an environment you will have and by the time you arrive on the Namaqualand you will discover a place that looks just like certain areas of Namibia. You could go hiking in the Cedaberg Mountains, to discover its rugged appeal and centuries old rock art.

SA offers four entirely different types of holidays and now that you have a little basic details, you will be able to choose which kind of vacation you prefer.
